Kochi: A clash erupted among two prisoners at Ernakulam district jail. The prisoners were identified as Manik Lal Das, an accused in a POCSO case, and Imran, an accused in a theft case. Both individuals are natives of West Bengal and are currently employed in the food unit in the jail. The dispute that led to the clash reportedly arose over cooking matters.
Manik Lal sustained severe injuries after the clash and has been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. The Info Park police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by the jail authorities.
