Thiruvananthapuram: The 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is set to kick off on December 8, and the registration for delegates started at 10 a.m. on November 22. Interested participants can register online at www.iffk.in.
According to a media report, students have the option to acquire delegate passes for Rs 590, inclusive of GST, while the general category delegate fee is Rs 1,180. Alternatively, registrations can be done at the delegate cell located at the Tagore Theatre, the primary venue for IFFK.
During the eight-day film festival, a diverse selection of 180 films will be screened across 15 theaters at various locations in Thiruvananthapuram. The international competition category will feature films from Asian, African, and Latin American countries. The festival aims to showcase the best of world cinema and the latest works by contemporary filmmakers. Additionally, films will be presented in categories such as ‘Malayalam Cinema Today,’ ‘Indian Cinema Now,’ ‘World Cinema,’ ‘Country Focus,’ ‘Retrospectives of major filmmakers,’ and ‘Contemporary Focus.’
Beyond screenings, the festival offers interactive platforms like Open Forum and workshops, providing delegates with an opportunity to engage with renowned film personalities from around the world. The annual Aravindan Memorial Lecture will also be held on the sidelines of the film festival.
