Thiruvananthapuram: A Thiruvananthapuram native has been apprehended in connection with the bomb threat incident targeting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport. The individual, identified as Fabin Shah, a 23-year-old native of Kilimanoor, was taken into custody by officials.
Fabin Shah allegedly used his mother’s broadband connection to send a threatening email, warning of an imminent explosion at the airport. The sender demanded a payment of one million dollars in Bitcoin within a 48-hour timeframe to prevent the alleged blast. The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team made the arrest after successfully tracing the accused through an IP address-based investigation.
The ATS has registered a case against Fabin Shah under sections 38 and 505(1)(b) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Authorities have announced that the arrested individual will be handed over to the Mumbai police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, this follows the recent arrest of another individual, Amin, from Thiruvananthapuram, also in connection with the same incident.
