Ernakulam: Bhasurangan, the former district council member and ex-president of the Kandala cooperative bank, who is currently under arrest in connection with the bank fraud case, has been admitted to Ernakulam General Hospital due to chest pain. The health issues arose while he was in jail earlier this morning.
Bhasurangan, who was remanded by the court yesterday, had his health concerns brought to the court’s attention. The court instructed the jail superintendent to ensure proper medical treatment for the accused. Despite Bhasurangan’s attempt to avoid remand by citing his health condition, the court, in alignment with the Enforcement Directorate’s stance, remanded him with specific health-related directives.
In connection with the Kandala Cooperative Bank scam, the Enforcement Directorate conducted a search at Bhasurangan’s residence in Maranallur. This follows previous raids by the ED, during which Bhasurangan’s properties were searched and sealed.
