Pathanamthitta: The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has commenced the service of its second bus on the Pathanamthitta-Coimbatore route, challenging the earlier Robin bus service. The new air-conditioned bus service began operations last night, departing from Pathanamthitta at 8:30 p.m. and arriving in Coimbatore at 4:30 a.m.
The return journey from Coimbatore starts at 8:30 a.m., reaching Pathanamthitta by 4:30 p.m. The route includes stops at Ranni, Erumeli, Kanjirappally, Erattupetta, Pala, Thodupuzha, Muvattupuzha, Angamali, Thrissur, Vadakancherry, and Palakkad.
KSRTC reported that the earlier service, which commenced at 4:30 a.m., has been successful. Currently, there are three services from Pathanamthitta to Coimbatore: 4:30 AM (AC Low Floor), 8:00 AM (Super Fast), and 8:30 PM (AC Low Floor).
The introduction of the Pathanamthitta-Coimbatore service is seen as a response to the discontinuation of the Robin bus due to alleged legal violations. The government’s directive not to put Robin back on the road prompted KSRTC to launch this new service.
