Thiruvananthapuram: The State Disability Commissioner has said that Divyang ( differently abled) students don’t need a new certificate for SSLC exam if the disabled students have existing documents specifying their disability. This instruction is applicable to students with existing documentation validating their disability, in accordance with Section 58 of the Rights of Disabilities Act.
State Disability Commissioner S H Panchapakesan has communicated this order to the Directorate of Public Education, emphasising that individuals with physical, mental, and intellectual challenges holding a disability certificate or a UDID card will be exempt from the requirement of obtaining a new certificate.
