KOLLAM: After kidnapping of 6-year-old Abigel Sara Reji from Oyoor in Kollam district yesterday evening around 4:30 pm, the child was found out today afternoon at approximately 1:30 pm.

While state police conducted a 21-hour statewide search, some students from SN College, Kollam, successfully identified the child.

Today morning police also arrested 3 persons from Thiruvananthapuram on suspicion but they were later released.

According to the students, the child, wearing a mask, was spotted at Asramam ground, Kollam. Upon approaching the child, the college students suspected she might be the kidnapped Abigel Sara Reji. Upon confirmation, they immediately informed both the Pink Police and Kollam East Police Station.

It is believed that the kidnappers abandoned the child at the Kollam Asramam ground before escaping.

The incident sparked numerous social media posts crticising that the crime was staged in front of the police. However, the police had not found the child, indicating a significant lapse in the police department’s attention to public security.
