Thiruvananthapuram: The Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), representing theatre owners, has raised objections to the newly introduced website and application by the Kerala government for booking movie tickets. The association has expressed strong dissatisfaction, stating theatregoers lack of confidence in the government’s app.
The organization expresses dissatisfaction about a system in which allocations to distributors and theater owners are handled by app operators. Additionally, the organisation states that this method of collecting and distributing allocations to distributors and theatre owners by the app operators is not practical.
FEUOK members argue that they cannot place their trust in the government’s app, citing concerns about its reliability and functionality. The association asserts that the proposed system poses challenges that need to be addressed before its widespread adoption.
The government’s initiative app, named ‘Ente Show,’ is set to launch soon, with the hope of streamlining the ticket booking process. However, FEUOK opposes its implementation of the app in the current scenario. The association suggests that, if proven successful in government theatres, the app could be considered for private theatres in the future.
In response to FEUOK’s objections, the government argues that the ‘Ente Show’ app aims to provide accurate data on ticket distribution, benefiting not only the government but also producers and theatre owners. The app is designed to offer transparency and efficient data collection during the ticket distribution process. The Kerala government also mentions that users of the ‘Ente Show’ app will incur only an extra charge of Rs 1.5 per ticket.
