Kochi: A dedicated investigative team has been assembled to investigate the molestation case against former government pleader Adv. PG Manu. The team, led by Puthenkurish DySP , comprises six members, including the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chottanikkara.
The accused in the case, Adv. PG Manu, has sought anticipatory bail as the investigation unfolds. Additionally, charges under the Information Technology (IT) Act have been filed against him. The police had recently recorded the statement of the complainant. The initial stages of the investigation were carried out by the Chottanikkara police.
As per police documents, the woman, a victim in a rape case in 2018, sought legal aid from Manu. But Adv. PG Manu assaulted her sexually. She claims that on October 10, 2023, Adv. Manu raped her and subsequently subjected her to further molestation and blackmail using video footage.
Moreover, in her formal complaint, she outlined instances of torture and received threats, cautioning her against disclosing details about the incident.
