Thrissur: A six-member gang was arrested by the Excise department in a case involving the manufacturing of illicit liquor. Surprisingly the gang was led by a doctor.
The Excise also confiscated 1200 litres of illicit liquor from the manufacturing center in Peringottukara, Thrissur and arrested Dr. Anoop from Irinjalakuda, along with Reji and Robin from Kottayam, Cyril from Kallur, Thrissur, Melvin from Kollam, and Prajeesh from Chirakkal, Thrissur.
An excise team conducted an operation upon receiving a tip off about the illicit liquor production in the area. During the operation, 1200 liters of illicit liquor were seized. It was revealed that the gang was into illicit liquor manufacturing under the leadership of Dr.Anoop.
Additionally, the excise department discovered that this location served as a center for receiving spirits and converting them into liquor. Notably, the doctor involved has also played a role in the Malayalam movie ‘Varayan’.
