Pathanamthitta: Devotees raise complaints that the police are preventing even the permitted Shayana Pradakshinam (ritual performed in a lying posture) after the temple doors are closed. The devotees say that they are unable to complete the Shayana Pradakshinam as the police barricades are causing hindrance.
Pilgrims from various states had to cut short their rituals without finishing the Shayana Pradakshinam, as officials are preventing them from doing it. Devaswom Board is taking this action after giving permission to conduct Shayana Pradakshinam, even after the closure of the temple doors.
In response to this incident, the Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam has taken a stand against the actions of the Devaswom Board and the government. The organisation aims to protest against the ongoing difficulties faced by devotees at Sabarimala, emphasising the need for a resolution to the challenges encountered by pilgrims. The Ayyappa Seva Samajam is planning to launch a protest involving officials from various organisations across the state.
