Thiruvananthapuram: Today witnessed an unexpected spike in the price of gold, with an increase of Rs. 100 per gram. The current market rate for gold now stands at Rs. 5,765 per gram. Rs. 800 has increased per sovereign and is now priced at Rs. 46,120.
The price of silver has also seen an upward shift, marking a rise of two rupees per gram. The current market price for silver stands at Rs. 79, while hallmark silver is valued at Rs. 103 per gram.
This surge in prices comes on the heels of a continuous five-day decline.
