Alappuzha: A case has been registered against 5 people, including the Chief Minister’s gunmen, in the incident of assaulting the protestors brutally. The police have finally registered a case against 5 people, including Chief Minister’s gunman Anil and security officer Sandeep. The action followed the order of the Alappuzha 1st Class Magistrate Court, which considered the petition filed by the protestors.
The protestors had lodged a complaint with the police, alleging that the gunman and the security officer had assaulted them. However, the police put forth a peculiar argument asserting that the gunman’s actions towards the protestors were solely from the perspective of ensuring the Chief Minister’s security.
When the police failed to file a case against the assailants, the assaulted protestors approached the court with evidence, including videos. In response, the court instructed the Alappuzha South Police to charge the chief minister’s security personnel as their actions were against the guidelines.
From the outset, the Chief Minister had maintained a stance justifying the actions of the gunman and the security personnel. The Chief Minister had repeatedly stated that he did not witness the gunman assaulting the protester and that the security personnel were engaged in life-saving work.
