CITU stages sit-in protest, demands reopening of closed Consumerfed liquor shop in Cheruvathur

Kasaragod: The CITU (Centre of Indian Trade Unions) workers have initiated a sit-in strike, demanding the reopening of the closed Consumerfed liquor shop in Cheruvathur. The liquor shop, which operated for just one day, was abruptly closed on November 24. CITU alleges that the closure was a result of high-level intervention favouring a nearby bar operating in proximity to the Consumerfed liquor shop. Alleging external pressure as the cause behind the shutdown, CITU protesters are now urging for the reinstatement of the closed liquor shop to resume its operations.
