Ernakulam: The Kerala High Court has become a shining example for other High Courts across the country by efficiently disposing of the majority of cases filed last year. Out of the approximately one lakh cases filed, an impressive 86,700 cases were resolved by the court. Additionally, the Kerala High Court has made significant strides in embracing paperless proceedings.

Last year, the High Court addressed a total of 98,985 petitions, encompassing civil and criminal appeals, revision petitions, writ petitions, and bail petitions. This includes 44,368 writ petitions and 11,649 bail petitions. Remarkably, over 80% of cases from diverse categories were successfully disposed of by the High Court, marking a notable achievement in surpassing the case disposal rates of previous years.

Justice PV Kunhikrishnan emerged as a key contributor to this success, delivering verdicts in an impressive 9,360 cases. Justice Devan Ramachandran also played a significant role, providing judgments in 6,160 cases. Justices Gopinath. P, Muhammed Nias CP, N Nagaresh, and Ziyad Rahman A A have also been instrumental in leading the charge towards efficient case disposal.
