Thiruvananthapuram: A ten-year-old girl narrowly escaped from an abduction attempt in the early hours of today while sleeping with her grandmother and brother in their house in Poovachal. The incident occurred around 3 am.
The assailant targeted the daughter of Vijayakumar and Suja, natives of Poovachal. The girl was sleeping with her grandmother and brother when the incident occurred. The situation came to light when the grandmother woke up to the distressing screams of the young girl. When the grandmother tried to stop him, he left the child and ran away. The girl’s father heard the noise and ran behind him but could not catch him.
The suspect, described as wearing a khaki shirt and black pants, managed to escape before others learned of the situation. The family reported the incident to the Kattakkada police, and they arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation. The authorities are currently examining CCTV footage from the area in hopes of identifying the perpetrator.
