ALAPPUZHA: Seven people including women were arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a youth in Alappuzha, where he was threatened and robbed of money and his mobile phone. The incident occurred on December 23, 2023, at 2:30 am. As per the police reports 22-year-old youth from Alappuzha was forcefully abducted from the premises of Cherthala railway station.
The case reports that the group assaulted and robbed his money and mobile phone. Additionally, the gang took photographs, including one with a woman in the group, for blackmail purposes.
Those arrested in connection with the incident are Abdul Jaleel of Aluva, Kalyani of Kollam, Jalaludheen of Kollam, Manju of Palakkad, Althaf, Mohammed Ramshad, and Faizal of Ernakulam.
Police initiated the inquiry and are probing whether the gang has any previous history of similar crimes.
