Pathanamthitta: Two people died and one was injured in a collision between a lorry transporting vegetables and a van carrying a music troupe in Kozhencherry. The accident occurred around 6:45 am. The deceased were identified as Akhil, a native of Punnapra and a member of the music troupe, and lorry driver Ajith, hailing from Nilgiri.
Surjith, another member of the van and a native of Alappuzha’s Muthukulam, sustained serious injuries and was shifted to Government Medical College, Kottayam, for medical attention. The accident involved the light and sound vehicle of the Kannaki Creations Music troupe based in Kuttanad.
The music troupe was returning from a performance at Seethathodu when the collision occurred. The lorry, loaded with vegetables from Nilgiri, collided with the van, resulting in extensive damage to the latter. The rescue operation proved challenging due to the severity of the impact, and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
