Thiruvananthapuram: Schools across the state are set to implement a new policy that allows extra intervals for students to drink water.
Under the new system, students will now have two additional five-minute break for drinking water. The interval time is scheduled for 10:30–10:35 a.m. and 2:00–2:05 p.m. These allotted intervals are apart from the existing intervals in schools.
The Department of Education has decided to introduce these intervals, named ‘water bell’, in the midst of the summer season. The decision to implement extra intervals is aimed at ensuring that students drink sufficient amount of water during their classes.
