Three DYFI activists arrested for assault on police officer in Kottayam

Kottayam: Three activists from the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) have been arrested in connection with the assault on a police officer in Kottayam. The arrested individuals are Ananthu Thangachan and Adarsh Surendran, both natives of Vallichira, Pala, and Ananthu, a native of Valavoor, Pala. The incident occurred in Uzhavoor town on Tuesday evening, where DYFI members attacked Kuravilangad Sub-Inspector KV Santhosh, resulting in a rupture of his left ear diaphragm.

The officer was assaulted while attempting to resolve a conflict between school students and autorickshaw workers. A group of three goons assaulted the police officer, demanding the arrest of the autorickshaw worker who had allegedly assaulted a student. The injured officer is currently undergoing treatment at the Medical College Hospital.
