Thiruvananthapuram: The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has reissued a stern warning to two-wheeler passengers, emphasizing the dangers of overloading. In a recent press release, travelers were reminded that only one rider, in addition to the driver, is legally permitted on a two-wheeler.
Despite this regulation, the sight of three people crammed onto a two-seater vehicle remains commonplace on our roads. This reckless habit not only violates traffic rules but also poses significant risks. Moreover, it jeopardizes insurance coverage, crucial in emergencies.
In light of these concerns, the MVD reaffirmed that such violations carry penalties. According to their statement, strict actions, including the cancellation of driving licenses, will be enforced upon observing more than two individuals traveling on a two-wheeler. Citizens are urged to adhere to traffic regulations for their safety and the safety of others on the road.
