Pathanamthitta: Kadampanad Village Officer Manoj(45), who committed suicide last week, reportedly faced intense pressure from local CPI(M) leaders, according to the complaint filed by Manoj’s family with the District Police Chief. The family alleges that there were numerous issues in the Kadampanad village office related to soil mining and that Manoj was threatened and abused by the local CPI(M) leaders because of it. Manoj’s brother stated that the SP has assured a thorough investigation into the incident.
Kadampanad is known to be a haven for land mining mafias. Manoj, who was transferred to Kadampanad three months ago, was found hanging inside his house on March 11.
