Jakartha: The earth quake and tsunami added the death toll to thousand and the number of deaths may rise as many victims are still trapped in the debris. A quake measured 7.5 in richter scale struck Indonesia on Friday. The earth quake prompted tsunami waves to reach even as high as 6 metres.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo reached Sulawesi island last day to analyse the situation. Around 540 people are seriously injured.Disaster management authority informed that dead bodies are being dumped in sea shores. As hospitals are collapsed,wounded patients are being treated outside hospital premises and buildings.
Roads and bridges have been destructed and thus traffic and transportation interrupted. Rescue operations are underway amidst lack of power supply and communication facilities.
