Abu Dhabi, UAE: The passing of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, an esteemed member of the UAE’s royal family, has left the United Arab Emirates and the world in mourning. The beloved brother of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Saeed’s departure has evoked an outpouring of grief and tributes from across the nation.

The Presidential Court conveyed the sombre news, issuing an official announcement that resonated with comfort and prayer for the departed soul: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful… With hearts faithful to God’s decree and destiny, President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourns his late brother, H.H. Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, who passed away today.”

As a mark of profound respect and sorrow, the Presidential Court has declared three days of official mourning. During this period, flags across the nation will be flown at half-mast until the end of Saturday, July 29, as a visible symbol of the nation’s grief and reverence for the departed leader.

The United Arab Emirates is observing three days of official mourning, during which the national flag has been flown at half-mast, following the passing of Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Born in Al Ain in 1965, Sheikh Saeed was appointed as the representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi in June 2010. He held significant roles, including serving as the Under Secretary of the Planning Department in Abu Dhabi and representing Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Additionally, Sheikh Saeed bin Zayed had a distinguished tenure as a former member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and as Chairman of the Maritime Port Authority.
