New Delhi: In an unexpected turn of events, Fawad Ahmed Hussain Chaudhry, Pakistan’s former Minister of Information and Broadcasting, took to social media to extend his congratulations to the Chandrayaan 3 mission and the Indian space sector. This move is intriguing, as Fawad Hussain has a history of criticising ISRO.

Fawad Hussain suggested that Pakistan’s media should broadcast India’s moon mission across the country, acknowledging the historic significance of this moment in human history. He commended the achievement not only for the people of India but also for the scientists and the Indian space sector as a whole. This gesture was conveyed through his X (formerly Twitter) account.

Pak media should show #Chandrayan moon landing live tomorrow at 6:15 PM… historic moment for Human kind specially for the people, scientists and Space community of India…. Many Congratulations

— Ch Fawad Hussain (@fawadchaudhry) August 22, 2023

It’s worth noting that Fawad Hussain had previously been known for ridiculing India’s lunar exploration efforts. During the launch of Chandrayaan 2 in 2019, he criticised ISRO for its expenditure of ₹900 crore on the mission. He had expressed the opinion that such funds should be directed towards more intellectually fulfilling endeavours. His recent message of well-wishing for Chandrayaan 3 has brought his past posts mocking India back into the spotlight on social media.
