Doha: Qatar has introduced an initiative to implement reduced working hours specifically for Qatari women working in the government sector with children attending school. This pilot program is set to kick off during the upcoming mid-term break of the ongoing academic year.
Under this trial initiative, female government employees with school-age children will conclude their workday at 12 noon, as announced by the authorities.
The reduced working hours will be in effect from December 24, 2023, to January 4, 2024, marking the trial period for the innovative approach. Following this timeframe, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau will conduct a thorough assessment to evaluate the effectiveness of the initiative.
This progressive move, developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, was officially communicated through the social media channels of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.
