Islamabad: According to Geo News, JuD chief Hafiz Saeed was arrested on Wednesday by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
The Pakistani news channel, citing sources, said the arrest was made when Saeed was travelling to Gujranwala from Lahore to appear before an anti-terrorism court. The Mumbai 26/11 mastermind has been moved to an undisclosed location, it said.
The Imran Khan government has been under pressure from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to act against terror outfits and terrorists operating out of Pakistan.
This comes in the wake of an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore granting Saeed pre-arrest bail. The CTD is likely to confirm the arrest at a press conference later today.
