Guyana : Indian women cricket team in elate. In the inaugural match India defeated New Zealand for 34 runs. New Zealand aimed at 195 runs, was caged by the women in blue to 160 runs out of 20 overs.
India won the toss and choose to bat secured 194 runs in 20 overs losing 5 wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur came out with flying colors. Out of 51 balls faced Kaur made 8 sixes and 7 boundaries leaping her runs to 103.
Kaur is the first Indian woman, to get a century in the history of International Women T20. Jemimah Rodrigues with 59 runs was another important score for India.
