Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty Advance to Semi-Finals of Korea Open 2023

Yeosu, Korea: In a thrilling quarterfinal match at the Jinnam Stadium, Indian badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty showcased their incredible talent and determination, securing a well-deserved spot in the semi-finals of the Korea Open 2023.

 

 

 

Going head-to-head against former world champions Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi of Japan, Rankireddy and Shetty displayed exceptional skill and strategic play, defeating their opponents with a commanding score of 21-14, 21-17. This victory marked their fourth win over the former world No. 1 Japanese pair, solidifying the Indian team’s dominance in their five encounters.

 

 

As the duo advances to the semi-finals, they face yet another significant challenge. Second seeds and world No. 2 pair Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang of the Republic of China await Rankireddy and Shetty in what promises to be an exhilarating match. The clash between these two talented teams is set to captivate badminton enthusiasts from across the globe and elevate the excitement of the Korea Open tournament to new heights.

The semi-final clash between Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty against Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang is scheduled to take place on Saturday.
