Bengaluru: Indian football’s captain, Sunil Chhetri, and his wife, Sonam Bhattacharya, are overjoyed to announce the arrival of their baby boy. Reports from local media confirm that Sonam gave birth to their son on Thursday morning at a nursing home in Bengaluru.

Hospital officials have conveyed that both mother and child are in good health, bringing relief and happiness to the Chhetri-Bhattacharya family. The elated family members are currently by their side, sharing in the joy of this momentous occasion.

Sunil Chhetri, who is widely regarded as one of India’s greatest footballers, shared the anticipation of becoming a father during the Intercontinental Cup. The announcement comes after he showcased his exceptional skills on the field, including scoring a crucial goal during the tournament.

Chhetri’s performance in the Intercontinental Cup, where he displayed his signature finesse, earned him the coveted Golden Boot and Ball awards. These accolades were instrumental in India’s victory in the SAFF Cup, a testament to Chhetri’s leadership and prowess.

Following the SAFF Cup triumph, the Bengaluru FC star had been taking time off from competitive football, opting to spend quality time with his growing family. This cherished period of personal time coincided with his absence from the Durand Cup.

Furthermore, Sunil Chhetri has been granted a well-deserved rest from the upcoming King’s Cup, scheduled to kick off next month.
