Ningbo: India celebrated a remarkable achievement in the field of sailing as talented Indian sailor Neha Thakur secured a silver medal in the girl’s dinghy ILCA-4 event during the third day of the Asian Games held in Ningbo, China.
Hailing from the National Sailing School in Bhopal, Neha Thakur’s stellar performance not only added to her personal accolades but also marked India’s first medal in the sport on day three of the Asian Games.
Neha’s consistent performance throughout the competition was underscored by her total score of 32 points, which ultimately earned her the second position. However, it was her impressive net score of 27 that secured her the coveted silver medal, placing her just behind the gold medalist, Noppassorn Khunboonjan of Thailand.
Singapore’s Kiera Marie Carlyle also showcased remarkable skill and determination, securing the bronze medal with a net score of 28.
Indian is currently in sixth place and has secured a total of 14 medals. India’s medal tally that now reads:
Gold: 3
Silver: 4
Bronze: 7
