Hangzhou : In a historic achievement for Indian badminton, the dynamic duo of Satwik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty has climbed to the top spot in the men’s doubles category in the world badminton rankings. The duo, Satwik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty becomes the first Indian players to achieve this remarkable feat in the men’s doubles category.
The Indian pair’s move to the top ranking comes as they surpassed Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto, now recognised as the best men’s doubles team in the world according to the latest BWF rankings. Satwik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty have accumulated an impressive 92,411 points.
The groundbreaking achievement unfolded after the Indian pair emerged victorious in the Asian Games 2023 final, defeating the South Korean duo of Choi Sol and Kim Won Ho.
