Ahmedabad:  Cricket enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the India-Pakistan World Cup match scheduled for today at 2 PM at Narendra Modi Stadium. The highly anticipated match is expected to draw a crowd of over one lakh spectators.

In ODI World Cup history, India and Pakistan have faced off seven times, and India has emerged victorious in all seven encounters. Today’s match promises to be thrilling, especially after both teams secured wins in their first two matches in this World Cup. Pakistan, coming off victories against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, is in high spirits, while India defeated Australia and Afghanistan in their initial matches.

Captain Rohit Sharma hinted at Shubman Gill’s return to the field after he missed the first two matches due to dengue fever. Gill’s comeback could strengthen India’s batting position. The team is counting on the batting prowess of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.

India, bolstered by the inclusion of Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Ravindra Jadeja, aims to perform well on the Ahmedabad pitch, known for its support for batting. The bowling lineup, led by Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin, is in good form.

Meanwhile, Pakistan pins its hopes on the batting skills of opener Abdullah Shafiq and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan. Captain Babar Azam, along with Iftikhar Ahmed and opener Imam-ul-Haq, faces a form slump, posing a challenge for Pakistan. Bowlers Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Haris Rauf have been taking wickets. Additionally, spinners struggling to secure wickets present another hurdle for the Pakistani team.
