Mumbai: In a pre-match press conference held today, T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav shared some valuable advice for Team Bharat as they gear up for the upcoming series against South Africa. Suryakumar emphasised the importance of putting aside the disappointment of the World Cup defeat and focusing on the positives gained from the recent T20 series victory against Australia.
Addressing the media, Suryakumar acknowledged the deep impact of the World Cup final loss on the Indian team but urged them to move past it. He highlighted the uplifting effect of the T20 series triumph against Australia, emphasising the need for a similar fearless approach against South Africa.
“The defeat in the World Cup final has affected the Indian team deeply. It’s disappointing, and moving on from it is challenging. However, the series win against Australia, though in a different format, provided a significant boost,” said Suryakumar.
The T20 captain stressed the importance of playing fearlessly, drawing parallels with the team’s performance against Australia. He encouraged the players to carry the same spirit from franchise cricket to the international stage.
“I told them that what they are doing in franchise cricket should be done for India too,” Suryakumar added.
