Rajkot: Yashasvi Jaiswal’s outstanding performance in the Rajkot Test against England has left cricket fans in awe as he etched his name in the record books with a stunning unbeaten 214*. His innings were highlighted by an impressive display of power-hitting, equaling Wasim Akram’s record for the most sixes in a Test inning with 12 massive hits over the fence. His formidable performance saw  Bharat set England a target of 557 runs , marking the second-highest target set by Bharat in Test cricket.

Joining Jaiswal in making headlines was Sarfaraz Khan, who made a memorable debut with two 50-plus scores in both innings. Sarfaraz’s strike rate of 94.2 is the highest among batters, with two fifty-plus scores on debut in men’s Tests, further showcasing his impact.

Notably, Jaiswal became the first Indian batter, and only the seventh overall, to convert his first three Test centuries into 150-plus scores, showcasing his remarkable consistency and prowess with the bat. At just 22 years and 49 days old, Jaiswal also became the third youngest player to score two double centuries in Test cricket, joining the ranks of legends like Vinod Kambli and Don Bradman.

Jaiswal’s stellar performance was instrumental in Bharat’s dominant display against England, with the team hitting a total of 28 sixes in the match, the highest by any team in a Test match. Impressively, Jaiswal accounted for 22 of those sixes, setting a new record for the most sixes by a batter in a Test series, surpassing Rohit Sharma’s previous record.
