Mumbai: Mumbai Indians’ skipper, Hardik Pandya, has broken his silence on the recent captaincy change controversy. During a press conference arranged by the Mumbai Indians on Monday, Hardik shared his views on the matter. He mentioned that there are no issues between him and Rohit. Hardik also recognised Rohit’s successful time as captain, pointing out all the achievements Mumbai had under his leadership and he said that he will just carry it forward.

Hardik mentioned that he is yet to have a conversation with Rohit as Rohit is busy travelling. But Hardik has expressed his confidence that Rohit would continue to support him as captain.

Addressing concerns over the captaincy change, Hardik reiterated his respect for Rohit’s leadership and stated that he aims to build on the team’s previous successes. Additionally, he confirmed his intention to contribute as a bowler for the Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season.

Reflecting on his journey with the Mumbai Indians, Hardik expressed his happiness at returning to his team and looked forward to playing in front of the fans at Wankhede Stadium. He reassured fans that there would be no significant changes in team dynamics despite the change in captaincy.

Acknowledging the fans’ mixed reactions to the captaincy change, Hardik stated that he respects their opinions and understands their right to express dissent. However, he emphasised the team’s focus on controlling what they can and striving for success in the upcoming season.
