Ever since the annual developers’ conference, Google I/O happened in California, users around the world was left in awe over how Google visualizes the future we’re setting off into.

As per the developers who participated in the conference notes, the main theme and focus of Google was about its AI tech and how the same tech is going to be integrated into various Google products.

This was bound to happen sooner or later, since OpenAI introduced their version of AI chatbot called ChatGPT at the end of last year. It was widely believed that ChatGPT would become a huge challenge for Google. This prompted Google to come out with its own version of a chatbot. Thus Bard was officially launched on March 21, 2023. It was initially only available to users in US and UK, but as of yesterday Google announced the launch of it in 180 different countries.

Google claims that AI has been an integral part of Google and its products for a very long time, expressing that some forms of AI have already existed in Google products like Searches, Maps, and Photos etc.

These products have been helping to maintain and make everyday activities easy. They even talk about how they have developed AI in other products like Translate and Lens as well.

The new AI chatbot is just a form of another and a more user interactive AI to perform. The AI can make use of available knowledge in the internet and create comprehensive results for any kind of logical, arithmetic and reasoning questions.

The integration of Bard and Google products will be a much larger AI experience. Google already uses AI to complete our searches, like how we hum a tune of a song making it produce millions of results. Maps use AI in making us aware of real-time traffic and best routes to choose from; Google Assistant interacts in a human manner because of the AI technology of Natural Language Processing (NLP).

These developments in Google products are evident but the integration of these products with future tech will serve as a total upgrade from our yesteryears.

As Google’s intention with Bard is to become the next go-to medium for possible queries, they are planning to adapt all Google products into a single umbrella of sorts. There have been multiple reports on how Google is refining their search engine to a more popular Gen-Z friendly interface. Instead of only providing old-school text like results, Google is aiming to become more visual in its search options. These rich visuals prompts will also be available in the chatbot.

Initial feedback from developers using Bard, it is said to have an high use for coding developments, as simple codes for amateur developers can be easily made using it. Along with this a plug-in support of extensions like Instacart, ZipRecruiter and Khan Academy will be made possible, with existing Google apps in it.

As Google aims to not only be a competition for ChatGPT, they are planning to compete with Bing’s GPT-4 and introduce prompt based AI generated images.

The Bard was recently shifted to the language model of PaLM, which is also getting a development in it. Google is developing Med-PaLM with the help of health research teams, to provide easy and quick findings to medical queries. It is said that Med-PaLM provides results with 85% accuracy.
