Elon Musk’s SpaceX has made news by recruiting a 14-year-old child, Kairan Quazi, for their Starlink engineering team. Quazi, who is set to graduate from Santa Clara University (SCU) in California, has successfully navigated the company’s interview process and will officially join the team in July. This extraordinary achievement marks a historic moment as Quazi, the youngest graduate from SCU, becomes the youngest employee at the billion-dollar company.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Quazi shared his excitement about joining the “coolest company on the planet” as a software engineer on the Starlink engineering team. He also expressed his gratitude to SpaceX for not relying on his age as an arbitrary measure of maturity and ability. Kairan, accompanied by his mother, will be relocating from California to Washington state after completing his bachelor’s degree.
Hailing from Pleasanton in Alameda County, California, the 14-year-old prodigy has displayed remarkable intellectual capabilities from an early age. According to his parents, Quazi was constructing full sentences by the age of two. His high levels of IQ and emotional intelligence led to his admission to Las Positas Community College before being transferred to SCU at the tender age of 11.
