G Sukumaran Nair elected to NSS General Secretary post for the fifth time in a row

Changanassery: A report said that G Sukumaran Nair has been elected to the post of General Secretary of Nair Service Society (NSS) for the fifth time in a row.  He was also re-elected to the board of directors after his term expired.

The report said that Sukumaran Nair has been with the NSS for the past six decades and became General Secretary in 2011 for the first time.

The board of directors was also filled and one of the new entrants into it is KB Ganesh Kumar MLA.

Sangeeth Kumar is elected the new Vice President and NV Ayyappan Pillai is the new treasurer.

NSS was established in 1914 by Mannathu Padmanabhan for the social advancement and welfare of the Nair community. Mannathu was a social reformer and had participated in Vaikom and Guruvayoor Satyagrahas for temple entry and against untouchability.
