Wayanad: Another tragic incident has been reported in Kerala, as a three-year-old boy died from fever in Wayanad district. The young child, named Libhijit, son of Vinod from Kaniyambetta, had a continuous high fever for the past few days. Despite being urgently taken to Mananthavady Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated, his life could not be saved. Regrettably, this marks the third fever-related fatality in Wayanad district within the last week.
Just two days ago, a four-year-old girl, who had been admitted to Wayanad Medical College Hospital on Sunday due to a severe fever, tragically passed away. Despite efforts to provide treatment, her condition worsened, prompting a transfer to Meppadi Wims Medical College. Unfortunately, she died as a result of the high fever.
The Kerala state continues to witness a steady rise in fever cases, with a total of 95 fatalities reported thus far. The increasing fever rate remains a cause for concern in the state.
Within just a month, the number of fever patients has exceeded 2.5 lakh. Every day, around 2,000 people in the state are attending to different hospitals for treatment of symptoms related to fever. The state health department has directed that children and the elderly must wear masks in public spaces.
