THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman was sexually assaulted on a KSRTC bus in the Thiruvananthapuram district. The incident occurred in Kattakkada yesterday at 8 pm, on a KSRTC bus traveling from Thampanoor, Thiruvananthapuram, to Kattakkada.
The victim immediately notified her husband via her mobile phone, and he rushed to the Kattakada bus stand. He managed to apprehend the accused and handed him over to the Kattakkada police.
The police arrested Pramodh in connection with the incident. He had initially harassed the woman on the bus, prompting her to raise her voice in protest. Even after she shouted, he continued his misconduct towards the young woman, at which point she informed her husband.
Her husband then waited at the Kattakada bus stand and apprehended the accused when the bus arrived.
The accused claimed to be a KSRTC employee.
The Kattakkada police informed us that since the assault took place within the jurisdiction of the Malayinkeezh police station, they will transfer the case to the Malayinkeezh police.
