Kozhikode: A scuffle between the crew of a private bus and the driver of a pickup van which erupted in the middle of the road in Vadakara, Kozhikode, brought traffic to a standstill. The confrontation, stemming from a collision between the two vehicles, resulted in a chaotic scene and led to a traffic blockade that lasted for several hours.

The incident unfolded when a private bus attempted to overtake a pickup van on the busy road. However, the manoeuvre went awry, leading to a collision between the two vehicles. The driver of the pickup van, evidently angered by the incident, confronted the bus crew, and the situation quickly escalated into violence.

Eyewitnesses reported that the pickup van driver and the bus crew engaged in a heated exchange, which turned physical. The confrontation not only disrupted the flow of traffic but also created a tense atmosphere in the area. The exact cause of the scuffle is yet to be fully determined, but initial accounts suggest that it originated from the private bus allegedly overspeeding during the overtaking attempt.

The police have registered a case related to the incident, naming both the bus staff and the pickup van driver as parties involved.
