Kalamassery explosion: Health Minister takes actions in response to Jehovah’s Witnesses Convention Center blast

Kochi: Health Minister Veena George has takes action in response to an explosion occurred at the convention centre of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Kalamassery.

Following the tragic event, Health Minister Veena George has directed the Director of the Health Department and the Director of the Medical Education Department to ensure that those affected receive the best treatment. Hospitals have been put on high alert, and health workers, including doctors on leave, have been instructed to return immediately.

In addition to this, preparations are underway to establish additional facilities at Kalamassery Medical College, Ernakulam General Hospital, and Kottayam Medical College, with a focus on providing the necessary staff and resources. The Health Minister has also emphasised the importance of making similar facilities available in other hospitals across the district.

The explosion, which occurred today around 9:45 a.m., resulted one fatality and left 23 people injured, with five in critical condition so far. A crowd of over 2,000 people was present during the incident.
