Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy rain with thunder and lightning across various districts in Kerala in the next three days. This weather alert is attributed to the intensifying east winds over the Bay of Bengal and South India, leading to rain even in northern Kerala.
As a precautionary measure, a yellow alert has been issued for 11 districts today, indicating the likelihood of heavy rainfall. These districts include Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur.
The yellow alert will continue in 10 of these districts tomorrow. It covers Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad. Additionally, a warning has been issued for the Kerala coast due to the possibility of high waves and storm surges. Fishermen and residents along the coast are advised to exercise caution in light of these weather conditions.
