Youth accused in multiple theft cases arrested by Tamil Nadu police in Thiruvananthapuram

Thiruvananthapuram: The Tamil Nadu police have arrested a youth who was wanted in connection with multiple theft cases across various police stations in Kanyakumari district. The arrest took place in Vizhinjam, where Nandakumar (19), a native of the area, was taken into custody.

According to police reports, the modus operandi of the accused involved the theft of motorcycles and then using these motorcycles for stealing necklaces.

Numerous theft cases have been registered against Nandakumar at police stations in Nagercoil, Asaripallam, Thakala, and other areas. In response to these reports, the police launched a concerted effort to investigate and apprehend the accused. A specialised team conducted an inquiry, which led them to trace Nandakumar to Vizhinjam. With the assistance of Vizhinjam Sub-Inspector Vinod, the arrest was carried out successfully.

During the arrest, the authorities seized 18 grams of stolen gold jewellery, along with a motorcycle that Nandakumar used in his criminal activities. Following his arrest, Nandakumar was presented in court and remanded into custody.
