Kannur: In yet another incident of theft in Payyannur city, a mobile shop near the old bus stand fell victim to burglary. The unidentified thief reportedly broke the lock of the shutter to gain access to the Mobile Zone store owned by P. Srinivasan, situated near Samsam Medicals.
The shopkeeper, upon discovery, found the shop’s shutter open the next morning and promptly alerted the owner. Upon further inspection, it was revealed that the thief had stolen Rs 60,000 in cash along with 25 mobile phones.
The interior of the shop was damaged. Additionally, a glove, presumed to be the thief’s, was discovered atop the building, and a mask believed to belong to the perpetrator was found at the scene.
