Chennai: A man attacked his wife with acid while legal proceedings regarding a complaint filed by the woman against him were ongoing. The incident occurred in Coimbatore. The accused threw acid stored in a water bottle, at his wife while policemen and lawyers were watching. He reacted angrily while the court accepted the woman’s complaint against him.
Despite the accused, Sivakumar, being under police custody, he managed to carry out the attack. The police said that they were confused about how he got the acid. An investigation has been initiated by the police to determine how the acid was bought and concealed in the water bottle. The police have filed a new case against the accused. The injured woman has been admitted to the hospital.
