Pondicherry native attributes his luck of winning Rs 20 crores bumper lottery to the blessings of Lord Ayyappa

Thiruvananthapuram: The lucky winner of the Christmas-New Year bumper lottery for 2023-24 has been identified. According to reports, the winner of first prize worth Rs 20 crores is a 33-year-old Pondicherry native. He has submitted the winning ticket to the lottery directorate. The lucky winner, who wishes to maintain a level of privacy, wrote a letter to the lottery director, requesting them not to disclose more information about him.

The Pondicherry native bought the ticket from Thiruvananthapuram during his visit for Sabarimala pilgrimage. He said that he feels it as Lord Ayyappa’s gift to him. The winning ticket of this year’s Christmas-New Year bumper lottery, bearing the number XC 224091 was sold at Lakshmi Lucky Centre, East Fort, Thiruvananthapuram.

Out of the total Rs 20 crores prize, the winner will get Rs 12.6 crores after the deduction of a 10% agent commission, DDS, and taxes. The second prize for the Christmas-New Year Bumper this time was Rs 1 crore each for 20 people and another 1 crore winners received Rs 63 lakh as their prize.
