Dubai: According to the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), Dubai has launched a five-year multiple-entry visa aimed at enhancing travel between Bharat and the Gulf nation, as reported by news agency PTI.

According to the latest data from DET on February 22, last year witnessed a significant surge in Indian visitors to Dubai, with 2.46 million arrivals, marking a 25 percent increase from the pre-Covid-19 era. Bharat has emerged as the top source market, experiencing an impressive 34 percent year-on-year growth. Notably, in 2023, 1.84 million tourists from Bharat visited Dubai, while in 2019, the figure stood at 1.97 million.

Under the new visa provision, eligible Indian nationals can enjoy the convenience of multiple entries into Dubai for five years, with each stay permitted up to 90 days. The visa can be extended once for a similar duration, ensuring a maximum stay of 180 days within a year. The visa application process boasts efficiency, with processing times ranging from two to five working days upon receiving and accepting the service request.

Conditions

Applicants must fulfil specific criteria, including maintaining a bank balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies over the last six months and possessing valid health insurance coverage applicable in the UAE.
