Pokhran: In a major boost for the indigenisation in defence sector the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) today at 6.45 am successfully completed the final trial of Nag anti-tank missile with a warhead.
“India today successfully carried out the final trial of the DRDO-developed Nag anti-tank guided missile with a warhand. The test was carried out 6.45 am at the Pokhran field firing ranges in Rajasthan,” DRDO officials told ANI.
According to senior government officials, the Nag anti-tank missile is now ready for induction as it has completed 10 successful user trial with the weapon finding and then hitting the target.
The NAG Missile system fired from a Nag Missile Carrier (NAMICA) can take target at ranges of 4 to 7 kilometres and is fitted with an advance seeker to home on to its target.
The third-generation anti-tank guided missile has top attack capabilities that can effectively engage and destroy all known enemy tanks during day and night.
